He aha tēnei, te kaupapa o Para Kore Ki Tāmaki?
Waiata and I caught up with over 110 students from across Tāmaki Makaurau and shared our korero around climate change through a Te Ao Maori lens. We were privileged enough to bring our whakaaro around what climate change means for us, how we as rangatahi are impacted by the actions and challenges in the world left for us and the biggest debate of all - Planet B4 Profit!
In our workshop, we started off with ancient Maori games, whakawhenaungatanga and our presentation of what we do as Para Kore Ki Tāmaki - Promoting plastic pollution, climate change and zero waste korero for rangatahi as rangatahi! We also sat beside an awesome panel of rangatahi leaders as they shared insight into how to grow an idea to action.
WAIOREA KAITIAKI ROPU - Ka Noho Teina Te Tangata! With pride in standing by their bins and educating their school about diverting from papatuanuku, we are truly honored to stand beside you all. These mana rangatahi have been leaders in our Ka Noho Teina Te Tangata Kura Kaupapa framework. We brought the idea, they brought it to life! Thank you for protecting papatuanuku. Today you made a difference! I guarantee people notice you whanau!
Kia Ora! As rangatahi, we bring our unique perspective on climate change as we take action for our future and for the future of Tamāki Makaurau. We are living in uncertain times with responsibilities to te taiao, our tūpuna and those who will follow. Welcome to PKKT's first vlog @ te Climate Challenge Conference!
Let the video speak for itself.
